In this section are the historic Venice canals, Ballona Lagoon and Marina del Rey, all worthy of exploration on foot or bicycle.
The CCT turns inland at Washington to skirt Marina del Rey, first following along busy streets and then a mix of parkway and parking lots, before turning seaward on the levee between the Marina's main channel and Ballona Creek. The trail crosses Ballona Creek on a non- vehicular bridge, and is then on the beach again. From here southward, walking on the wide beach is an option to the paved path.
In summer months, the Coastlink Ferry provides a scenic way to cross the Marina. It also provides roundtrips for sightseers. [Stan Bluhm]
