Monterey Northern County

The Coastal Trail follows the broad, sandy beaches of Zmudowski, Moss Landing, Salinas River, Marina and Monterey State Beaches from the Pajaro River south to the historic old town of Monterey. The trail then courses through town, past famed Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, before entering the picturesque town of Pacific Grove. Now, the CCT is not following the rocky shoreline of the famed Monterey Peninsula, but is wending its way past world-class golf courses to reach the artist?s? enclave of Carmel orologi replica panerai and its exquisite white sand beaches. Past Carmel, the trail gains Point Lobos State Reserve, whose rocky promontories and rugged cypresses are renowned. [Jon Breyfogle]
